What Does This Privacy Policy Cover?

This Privacy Policy covers the Company’s treatment of personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") that the Company gathers when you are accessing our Website and when you use our services, software or products. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that the Company does not own or control, or to individuals that the Company does not employ or manage.

Driver's Record: We check your driver's record to make sure you and your car meet the Company’s safety standards. By registering with TravelCar, you authorize us to access your driver's record from state DMVs, RMVs, and other applicable entities, and this authorization extends to TravelCar throughout the entire time you use our Service, so that TravelCar may re-check your records from time to time. You also authorize said entities to release this information to TravelCar.

You authorize us to obtain this information, and you authorize applicable entities such as DMVs, RMVs, inspection companies, and auto mechanics to release such information to TravelCar.

‍Social Media: When you interact with us through various social media, such as when you log in through Facebook or when you like or post a comment to our Facebook page or interact with us on other social media, we may receive information from the social network, such as your profile information, profile picture, user name, user ID associated with your social media account, friends list, and any other information you permit the social network to share with third parties. Personal Information Collected Automatically:

We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with our Website or services. The Company automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, cookie information, and the page you requested.

Generally, our service automatically collects usage information, such as the numbers and frequency of visitors to our site and its components, similar to TV ratings that indicate how many people watched a particular show. The Company only uses this data in aggregate form, that is, as a statistical measure, and not in a manner that would identify you personally. This type of aggregate data enables us to figure out how often customers use parts of the Website or services so that we can make the Website appealing to as many customers as possible, and improve those services. As part of this use of information, we may provide aggregate information to our partners about how our customers, collectively, use our site. We share this type of statistical data so that our partners also understand how often people use their services and our Website, so that they, too, may provide you with an optimal online experience. Again, the Company never discloses aggregate information to a partner in a manner that would identify you personally.

We may also collect geo-location data, including location information from your mobile device, and information about the location and movement of your vehicle or the vehicle you are renting during a rental period based upon the movement of your mobile device. We monitor the location of all vehicles to provide our service, to prevent theft, and to allow us to locate you in case of accident, emergency, lock-out, etc. We may maintain location data in order to aggregate trends and metrics and may share de-identified and/or aggregate location and movement data with third parties for advertising, research, analytics, and other purposes.

Communications:

We may communicate with you via in-app notifications, email, SMS text, or other method. You control when and how you would like to receive messages, and you may be able to opt-out of receiving certain types of messages by contacting us at terms@travelcar.com.

We may send you other messages in the course of operation of our service, such as notifications from the Company, updates about service changes and new features, and important news that may impact your use and enjoyment of Travelcar. By providing your email address, you consent to our using the email address to send you service-related notices, including any notices required by law, in lieu of communication by postal mail.
